over the years there have been many occasions where i had to treat minor problems with medicinal herbs, recently i got a book on this subject about the medicinal plants of Costa Rica. which made me (not the first time) realize that there's a lot of common herbs and spices with dual use... while i live in a different climate than most of you the examples below should be able to grow indoors as well and/ or available from local stores (!!! do your own research as well as people can act differently):
● cinnamon (cinnamon verum): one teaspoon of powder helps against diarrhoea
● cayenne pepper (capsicum frutesens): multiple uses, f.i. as a cold remedy, NOT tried myself but somewhere i read it also can act as a blood clotting agent
●ginger (zingiber officinale): an important plant in traditional chinese medicine , f.i. a tea of chopped-up root to treat diarrhoea
●curcuma (curcuma longa): used since ancient times, a neighbour taught me to use juice from the crushed leaves to treat minor cuts etc. (infections)
anyone aware of other common herbs/ spices which fit in this tread?!
