Just a comment about the sap - as everyone seems to be aware it does react with UV to form painfull blisters, but to add to it all these can return. So its not just like a 'normal' chemical burn which will go away they can revisit you once they seem to have healed.
If it is Giant - the council might be willing to help as they get very tetchy about having it around anywhere near anything public.
Also as Xylaria said some people will react to other species and while i wont be the same reaction it is slightly worrying to get a swelling sore bit and have to think back and try to assure yourself that it wasnt giant from memory. I for one have dificulty with id of the umberllifera's.
