Hello, whilst clearing a shed found an old 6lb Gilpin axe head, which is cleaning up nicely. Where can I get a new handle of reasonable quality ?
Also am I right in thinking Gilpin are ok ??

Nice bit of ash would do you. Plenty of places to "source a bit"
Failing that a lot of DIY places can have them in stock but not as good as one you make your self ;)

Ben Orford has just put a superb video up on you tube showing how to carve and fit an axe handle, if you feel like giving it a try.
