Newbie!

I bought and used a steel cooking tripod and it was suggested that i coat with Danish oil, any suggestions for covering them for storage to avoid a greasy mess?

Hello Roberta and welcome.

I've only heard of Danish Oil being used on wooden items before. I suppose it will eventually harden.

Plan A. Wrap it in cling film.
Plan B. Leave it outside until it hardens.
Plan C. Use a blend of linseed oil with beeswax. Put it on with the metal warm. It will be waxy instead of greasy.
Plan D. Forget about the tripod until you need it again, after all it's just a tripod!
