just want to take this opportunity to introduce myself my name is John, been interested with survival and bushcraft for about a year or so. Finding it really enjoyable and relaxing. I haven’t taken a course yet but that is on of my goals if not this year then definitely next, any recommendations welcome.

Not locally to you, but a great place to learn and practise bushcraft is the Bushmoot!

@Madriverrob and myself often go to Brockwell Woods near Blaydon, it's a privately owned woodland that allows responsible wild camping, there are no toilets etc, you can filter water from the stream or get it from the farmhouse, they allow fires when it is possible, obviously discretion plays a part, all in all a great place to practice, chill, and enjoy, for a small fee
