Sunny Wales!
Only used the triple laminated steel on another Helle, although I did get the Temagami on the pass around.

Edge retention is superb. So much, I bought a Helle and use it daily now.

Great review.

Xunil, have you tried the Temagami with a firesteel? How does it work?

At Helle´s webpage they say that the striking feature doesnt work the way the intended http://www.helle.no/Default.aspx?tabid=4978&newsid10372=2294&language=en-US

I have the Helle Eggen, a great knife that looks a lot like the Temagami, but I miss a carbon steel blade for firesteel use.

Here also the same question. I've had the Fjellman and I sold it because of the soft outer steel of the laminated blade. This prevented good sparks.

I still own the jegermester, made of inox, and that one is perfect for sparks.

Here's how I strike a spark on a ferro rod using a carbon steel Temagami.
