Thinking of getting one of these , anybody got one ? and if so are they any good ?

I had one, liked it , but I bought the wrong size, so I never got a.chance to trully test it. Another forum member has it now, so he may answer when he sees this. Well made, I'll say. And I would buy another unless I heard summat bad.

Cheers,I've read they are big sized and to order a size down ,was that you're problem ?

Yes they are good. They are robust and work well. They do rustle a bit as they are a hard shell.

A lot of the UK Armed Forces buy these for themselves.

I got the one Chiseller is on about and love it. Yes it russles a little due to the material but its not a big problem to me.
I wore it recently at a midland meet, my only critisism is the map pockets are velcro fastened instead of a zip.
I tried it on today over my snugpak pile shirt for a waterproof layer and fits a treat.
All in all i would recomend one.

Cheers for the info everyone , think im gonna invest in one seeing as there seems no let up in this wet weather and fancy something a bit lighter than my Barbour
