Hi chaps, My two pence worth, I have a 550 griptilian , and apart from being a real pain to sharpen, the locking mechanism clogs far to easily when gutting game, and its a pig to get all the bits of fur/ tissue out when cleaning it.

I ended up going back to my collection of Cold steel voyagers I have a
Large Tanto Blade
Large clip point
Small GS2 folder
and my much loved Extra Large Voyager with a 5 inch blade, its locking mechanism is superb if not trendy and fashionable, the cold steel family of knives in my hands are far more controlable and comfortable in cold/ wet, or gory hands in the middle of the woods trying to gut a bunny.

I think this is one of those 'people are entitled to their opinions' things, it seems that for you the knife hasn't worked out well, for a lot of people it does. I know people that don't like the Voyagers - All opinion.

Thanks for yours.

When you get a chance Northern Raider you should stick an intro in about yourself, there's a welcome/new members forum down near the bottom, it would be good to hear more about you :D

BOD!
I think that CRKT M21 will be god to You.
I'm usig two folders, CRKT M21 & CS Voyager XL.
Voyager is my EDC folder; the look's good, cut good, but into forrest is to light.
M21 is very strong and working in wood very good, better than Voyager.

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
Bought this Al Mar for about 30 pounds.

The shop know nothing about it but I believe it dates from the 80s. Blade is ATS 34 made by SEKI.

Can anyone ID it?

Brought it out for a test. Its still showing some sap.

Don't know which model it is but I think that you'll find that the blade is made in Seki not by Seki. Seki City is a town in Japan that is famous for it's blade making.
