I've made a whittling knife for a gift . The previous handle broke so I tried again . And came up with this . O1 steel & I'm told the wood is hazel .
It still needs a good clean up and final sharpening /hone . But I'm happy with it uploadfromtaptalk1372864962198.jpguploadfromtaptalk1372864980461.jpguploadfromtaptalk1372865001947.jpg

Thats very nice!! Really love the single piece handle and sheath! Any chance of some pics of the complete blade too perhaps?

Thanks for sharing :)

Cheers guys !.
The blade itself is just a tiddler but it's sharp and seems to stay sharp.
The wood was my fire stick from a recent camp @ http://www.inwoodcamping.co.uk
I took it home and stood it in pva & water for a few days turning it every day.
Till I was happy it wouldn't crack .
I left it to slowly dry from my shed rafters for a few days coating it daily in linseed till that stopped soaking in .
I'm happy with the result . Here's the blade DSC_0034.jpg
