Here and there
I'm putting together a sewing kit and would really appreciate recommendations for good tools - shears, needles, thread etc for hand-sewing everyday clothing please. I have done a bit of leatherwork in the past and appreciate that the right materials and equipment makes a difference. I might invest in a machine in the future but for now want to focus on getting the basics right.

I'm in the process of putting together a repair kit for when I'm out riding (horses, not bikes, so it is for emergency temporary repairs to tack and clothing).

I've modified an awl handle (a minute on the 2" x 72" grinder) and moulded a piece of beeswax so that they fit into a small tin. I'll put a few yards of linen thread, maybe two different gauges and appropriate needles. If there's room, I might include a couple of buckles and Sam Browne studs.

I'll not need to include scissors or a blade because I always have a Leatherman on my belt.
