Recently bought this fine little drop point from a site member but thought, as did the seller, it might benefit from a better-proportioned sheath.

Well, you might not like the colour but here is my attempt to make one with a funky retaining peg. Highly unlikely the knife would ever jump free as it is a really nice fit now I’ve wet-formed it but it makes for something different. And what’s wrong with ‘experimentation’ anyway?

All I need now is to make a matching “green” belt and I’ll be that much closer to a full set. That is after I’ve made the ammo pouch, flashlight holder, binocular strap, key case ………..

Cheers!

Thats really very good.
I especially like the way the stitch lines for the belt loop follow the contours of the rest of the sheath - a very nice touch.

ace! :D - one slight critasism, I assume you couldn't get a BRIGHT green? ;)

what is the cord? - did you make it yourself? (I like the plattedness of it)

A rifle bolt with custom-fit belt pouch.

I wonder why you need a pouch for that. I don't know much about rifle use, but why would you want to carry a spare bolt in the field? nice pouch though. Another colour for a change :)

1. Point taken but the nearest match to this:

2. Available from any good leather supplier in a variety of diameters and colours. This was plain vegetable tan to start with.

Cheers

It is not for a spare bolt, it is for a removed bolt thus making the rifle unusable and therefore providing safety and security :) A stalking club I am currently waiting to join will eject you from the club if you take a Rifle with the bolt fitted into the hunting lodge and given the fact that there is a two year waiting list to get in it is a bad mistake to make
