Not to mention whether you are actually talking about a kayak, canoe, inflatable, sit on top etc etc etc 
I've recently bought this, brand new;
It's a Perception Freedom "Expedition" sit on top "kayak".
Now, in my book, it's not actually a kayak at all but a completely seperate type of craft, also people all too often talk about "kayaks" when they mean "canoes" and vice versa, so there is quite a bit of scope for confusion when folk ask about "kayaks"
