glo toob

I'd have a look at the Krill lights that Wayland mentioned, if you want something to use more as a lamp. I looked at both a long while ago and got a green glo-tube fx. It's good as a marker for my hammock at night, but not that good as a light IMO. That said, it has plenty of functions, is bombproof and waterproof to several leagues under the sea or something.

I think green light is more visible to the human eye, but am happy to be corrected.

If you do want underwater proof dont bother with a Krill (yes i know what they say on the tin ) but should be fine for normal out door use

i have a glow tub i got to replace several Krills but never really use it its in a drawer some where and has been for years

maybe a Tritium key fob might work depends how far away you need to see it or how close you can remember your Basha is  :D

dont think i would use any of them for anything other than a marker not much use as a task light

I carry a Glo toob white one also hae the defusers which helps stand it up. I carry a spare battery inside a screw top capsule with it.

According to the manufacturer white is the brightest and most visible, they sell mainly white, followed by red, green and blue and lastly amber.

I find them a bit blinding to use as a task light, the whole point of it being used as a marker is that it shines 360 degrees, so it's always in the eyes. Hanging in the tent they are useful, maybe not to read a book but certainly for general illumination. I think also that they're massively overpriced for what they are.

Wonder if this would be any good for tent lighting.
