Yes, Leon's images show exactly what I meant by the straighter helve. For me this along with the unique head shape makes me choose this ax most of the time.

I think the Hunter's ax makes a superior carving ax and while I sometimes use my Swedish Carving Ax I many times pick up the Hunter's instead.

But like the Hunter's, the Carving Ax has a nicely shaped and roughened helve.

Ceggas mate, you need to make one like the 4 lugged chopping axe (I know you can I have seen it) - the guys here would love them!

Although for me, I do fancy the bearded axe!
