Anyone else do this?

I suppose I started about 5 years ago. I now have a pond, native hedging and wood piles. I was moving some big pots and disturbed this little fella (2nd sighting this week).

It is nice to see some promising results :) .

I wonder where Mom & dad are:theyareon

I've got an orchard, I used to keep the grass mowed and burn all the old wood prunings.
Now I strim occasionally to keep the Dock and nettles under control, it's full of wild flowers which bring in insects and predators, and old timber is stacked instead of burned, there are hedgehogs and toads living underneath and birds nesting in it.

My neighbour has a leylandii hedge, not the prettiest thing but wild birds nest quite successfully in it, particularly Blackbirds, when the females were sitting earlier this year I counted at least 20 males feeding and returning to their nests. :)
