Both species have scales on the cap.

From Buczacki:

S. aeroginosa "often with +- woolly white scales"
S. caerulea "often initially with white woolly scales"

They are very hard to tell apart, especially from a photo. Needs microscopy, and even then it's not easy. Habitat is slightly different. Caerulea grows on "organic/mulched soil", aeruginosa on "soil among trees, garden, woodland, parkland".

These were on "soil amongst trees" in a thin strip of woodland surrounding a football field. Poor soil there too as its all built on an old bottle dump. People dig up the old bottles and fell a lot of trees doing it (which i tend to take as they are normally Oak, Ash or Cherry) The soil more than 6" down is just burnt rubble, glass and pottery/ceramic shards...
