Fresh Walnuts...

Kinda quiet in work, so during coffee break I took a stroll over to a walnut tree in the grounds I've been keeping a close eye on...
turns out they are now ready/ripe!

I've never tried them straight from the tree or even fresh probably, but they are really good

Guess I'll be taking a stroll (and carrier bag) over tomorrow!!

Will do... and these are so ready, most of the pod has eather split, or rotted away.

As far as I'm aware its too late for pickling, it needs to ne done in juneish before the shells start to harden.
