Just found this Old Timer at the back of larder drawer so thought you might like a peek too!

Sorry about pic quality but best I can do with mobile phone. Handle is Ivory - the rest as you see.

Cheers

If that thing has sat in the back of drawer forgotten for years can I have first dibs on helping you when you have a muck out of all the other drawers please? :D
Thats a lovely looking knife. One day in the far and beyond I'll get around to treating myself to a nice piece of Damascus.....

Nice knife!

I was expecting you to say that you had found the rusty remains of a woodlore knife in a wood in Wales. :D

Maybe just too busy. It can be hard keeping up with forums, especially the amount BCUK has grown recently. I struggle!
I remember when a certain strop got mentioned on BB without any jokes.
Last I herd he had taken a gap year any was saving up money so had two jobs. I think a girl was taking up some of his spare time as well

I've bled and dressed a few deer with it in the past but the hollow grind doesn't lend itself to overly heavy bushcraft type work in my opionon, or should that read just a poor excuse to purchase yet another knife??

I plan to give the knife to my daughter when she's old and/or interested enough in such things. Bit of a girly knife anyway with that posh & delicate ivory handle! She's not quite 4 yet so still some way to go but as yet no problem with the concept of killing "Brave Little Deer" or "Mrs. Rabbit"! No doubt that will all change though once the less disirable elements of our education/indoctrination system kick-in.

Alan is currently working on a two-knife set for me which includes a Loveless designed Nesmuck copy. Both in twistsy Damascus with ramshorn scales. I am to make the custom-fit holster-style sheaf so you will be able to judge how good or otherwise I am with handsewen leather work in 9 months time. Should be good for a laugh! If I'm honest though this whole knife owning thing is really just "big boys toys" collecting as in there is not much I haven't done just as well with a £3 Opinal. You do though need to remember to check the tightness of the lock-ring quite regularly when really going for it on a piece of hazel!!! :cussing: They sharpen very well too.

Cheers
