I am really struggling with the colours on the forum ,it was great when we had the option to adjust the colours ourselves ,they are certainly not eye friendly for a period of time and i do not wear glasses (yet) .I frequent a few forums and its when you come back to BCUK you notice just how bright it is,BCUSA has been changing theirs recently and to my eye the colours are great also very fitting for the subject. Is there any way to change to more eye friendly ????or eye will be needing  not cool.

You should be able to tell your browser to override the server's idea of what colours things should be.

If it's Firefox/Iceweasel try Edit->preferences->content->fonts & colours, probably something similar in other browsers.

Depending on what sort of screen and drivers you have you might be able to adjust things like colour balance and brightness of the display itself rather than what the software tells the display to display.

The forum software does seem to be a bit lacking in this area. I haven't had the impression that the software authors are particularly responsive to feedback so I think it's a case of DIY or lump it.

We had one lined up and then scrapped it as it was incompatible and it's not been high on the priority list compared to some other stuff, it's still on the list, it just got pushed down a bit.
