Finally have the whole day off tomorrow and rather than head south as per, thought to pop to the Forest of Dean for a days walking, anyone know a nice place to start from for a 10k walk ??

I'm sure it very busy and as it's sunday I'm sure very very busy but are there quieter spots to head for ??

Cheers.

Hello Dan Wound, the F.O.D is like a second home to me i do a lot of overnighters there. The centre of the forest is Speech house. If you are coming from A48 from Chepstow a good drop off point could be Viney hill and just head north for 10k to another pick up point,or start at speech house and start a 10k route from there.Boys Oak is a quiet area for getting lost in. Try and avoid the area around the cycle centre sometimes its a nightmare. Cheers.
