I've got a knife blank which I'm wanting to put an antler handle on. I know that deer shed their antlers once winter is over, but not sure when the best times to go are.
I live relatively close to the Forest of Dean, so I was wondering if this would be a good place to go antler hunting. Is it illegal to take dropped antler from the Forest of Dean? If not, is it a good place in general anyway? I guess I'd only need a single antler, if that, so I'm not planning on walking out with two dozen matching pairs or anything of that calibre.
