Thanks to Paul ( Bear Thrills ) I now own for £20 :) a ten foot length of Shim steel to make up a stove pipe to fit my Helsport Veranger 4/6 my winter tent for a trip to Lapland next year .

But how to use a folding stove in a lavvu ,,, fit a stove jack ...

First take one silaconized stove jack from the USA and cut it to bits ,

The old singer works well as always

Test fit

Add some more protection for the straps

another test fit

Pipe a bit long but it will cast all the sparks away from the lavvu

More protection inside

The stove pipe at a bit of an angle to cast the pipe away from the apex of the lavvu , ,
Still needs testing but its to hot today

Tent , inner ,Ground sheet , Pole , pegs and Stove all packed up in a Dutch Army surplus dry bag

Looking good.

Do you think you'll need to heat shield the base of the pole where it sits so close to the stove, or is the air gap sufficient?

Nice work Cliff. I'm confused though, I thought the whole idea of a laavu was to already have a point of exit for a flue? Obviously this one didn't or you wouldn't be doing this!

jan the gaps fine I will put a plate below the pole to stop it sinking though ,

Chad the problem is with the roll up stove pipe not been able to fit a insulater so a stove jack was the way to go

Interesting idea for my tipi we used a section of chicken wire that went throughout the already existing flue hole but needed the wire to protect the fabric.
