First Lamb!

Now I know the Spring is here, just spotted the first lamb in the paddock opposite my house; sheep rearing in these parts is very low-intensity, no big farms and the land is not suitable for the big sheep men to come and rent for lambing, and the fellow opposite us just runs about thirty to forty ewes on about that many acres and all as natural as it can be these days.

Brought a glow to see the wee thing lying there brand new; the weather can do what it likes now, we're over the hump and on the run-in!

Excellent

It's sunny, but icy cold here, but the light is brilliant. It's like the gloom has just lifted from the world
There are flowers just opened on the blackthorn, and my roses are sending out new shoots too.
The longer days are a real pleasure.

We have lambs here too.

I well remember my mother telling me how cute they were at play.

All I saw was ferocious fights.

Just seen this one, we've got quite a few lambs about at the moment, noticed about 2 weeks ago there were loads over by the coast in the fields... It's lovely to see them.

Not many lambs on the loose in central Huddersfield, but I saw this in the garden earlier...

It's a glorious morning with it, too.
