Spotted my first Hedgepig tonight. Watched it go into a bag of garden waste, and it looked like it was snaffling a baby mouse? Would they do that?
Spotted my first Hedgepig tonight. Watched it go into a bag of garden waste, and it looked like it was snaffling a baby mouse? Would they do that?
They are so numerous now that they are causing great damage to the ecology. Ground nesting birds in particular.
Bad form replying to one's own post, but anyhow....Got a couple of pictures of the greenfinches:We have greenfinches. Not in abundance, but they are visiting our feeders. I will try to get a picture. We weren’t sure about hedgehogs, but our trail cam did catch one on it’s way to our ‘wild’ section of the garden, late one night in the autumn. We’re hoping he/she is OK in the brash pile that is there.
A Hedgepig or two were, I think, having an illegal rave in my garden last night. Some very strange noises emanating, more than the usual snuffles!
They make an unbelievable amount of noise in the mating season
