First time hammock camp last night (normally a bivi and basha).
I survived !!
Definitely more comfortable than laying on the ground but it will take a bit of getting used to, also it’s a bit more faff to set up I think, hopefully I’ll slicken it up with practice and fine tuning.
Was a cracking night with heavy frosts and apparently -6•c first thing going by my little thermometer, was a good frost on the tarp!
Collected about 600ml of birch sap over 24 hours, much kinder to the tree using the limb cut method.
That first coffee from the hammock is sheer luxury.....
Loads of deer sightings and sounds, mainly red hinds and the odd Chinese water deer.
