First fire with a bow drill

I can't say it was easy, but I finally did it. I tried my best to gather materials on the spot and use only natural materials, but fell a little short in the end. but, I made fire by friction. WooHoo!

That's funny Woz888. Thanks everyone! I did it again today and it was much easier, no charcloth this time though.

I have a hard time keeping the bow from wiggling up and down. It's definitely a good feeling when you finally get it.

Burn it in a ceremonial fire made with it's last ember, and use the warmth to dry your next hearth. Well done fella, good effort.

I have a hard time keeping the bow from wiggling up and down.

I had that problem. I found that keeping my bowing arm as straight as possible solved that.
