First attempt at tooling leather

Thought I'd start with a simple pattern just to see how i got on. What hammer are folk using as I've got a wee wooden mallet but I don't think it's heavy enough

nice one bud looking good. For bevelling and such i use a small stone masons wooden maul as it has a great weight distribution for tapping quickly. for heavier stuff i use a rawhide mallet

Yeah I didn't feel like the wee mallet was giving me much power it's not particularly heavy

One the last pieces of 3mm veg tan that I have

Thought at the very least if it turned out ok I'd make a bracelet lol

Dyed it, did the edges and carnauba creamed it then Stuck a few pop rivets on.

that looks really good! My first attempt was not as good as yours! I use a small rubber hammer and a hard underlayer.
