Belive it or not, but catapults are illegal in Norway, and the fine to import one is 400£
...but I can get a license for a semi automatic rifle in about 30 minutes.

What is the reasoning behind this?

I like to imagine that it's an animal welfare thing; if you wing something with a catapult then it is injured and in pain if you don't get a clean hit. If you spray ammo with a semi-auto around the woods then stuff is DEAD...
