Stoke on Trent
Hi there I'm new to this group and wondered if there's any like minded soul's around Stoke on Trent that wouldn't mind me joining them occasionally when out foraging. Thank you in advance

Just a thought, but WildfoodUK do foraging courses if you’re open to paid options. They have loads of great YouTube videos, but nothing beats going out with an expert if your objective is to learn.

I’d do one in a heartbeat if they had any running in or near North Lincs.

Hi Chris, yes I've watched a few and got various books. Just want to get out there. I'm being called to the forest and looking for someone to join me. Hopefully find a like minded soul near here. All the best with all you do

Hi and welcome, I'm always foraging on my own, almost everyday. I'd suggest keeping a foraging diary with dates, what you found and where.
Today, I picked a load of ivy leaves on the way home from town, to make clothes washing liquid. It doesn't foam like commercial stuff, but definatly cleans soiled clothes, and can also be used as hand wash or for dishes...60 or so large leaves boiled for 25 mins in 3and 1/2 cups of water, lid on. leave to steep, and when cool put into a bottle. Use about a cup in the washing machine, but I handwash, so I use about half a cup in a large bowl.
I make some every week as it doesn't keep for long, just about enough for a weeks washing, which works out about this amount.
