I'm always on the look out for new deep heat type products and recently saw this stuff 2Fiery Jack" rubbing cream. OMG this cream has got to be the hottest I've ever tried. I saw it in a wee chemist in Calender yesterday when I was in buying heat pads so I thought I'd give it a go...WOWEE:eek: this stuff is good;)

I've been trying to get a hold of capsicum ointment and I think I may have found it in another name...If you suffer aches n pains that help with deep heat creams, try this but be warned it's HOT, it's hotter than ANYTHING I've ever tried before...and wow what relief it brings to my creaking back!

Has anyone else tried this stuff?

This sounds interesting w00dsmoke, I've been trying to find a cream that feels hot, everything I've tried barely feels even warm to me, any particular chemist?

Nag, I used to make my own stuff up and I thought that was hot but it's nothing compaired to this. I bought it out of a wee independent chemist in Calender.I'll tell you what...pm me your address and I'll send you a tube after the next time I'm up in Calender;should be within the month.

I put about an inch of cream on out the tube and jee whiz I feel like my back is on FIRE but it's a heck of a lot better than the feeling of acute toothache in your spine! :o It's pure relief. It's ingredients are Glycol Salicylate BP 5% w/w, Diemthylamine Salicyliate BP 5% w/w Methyl Nicotinate BP 1%w/w Caapsicum Oleoresin BPC 1.25% w/w and a lanolin cream base. Myhomemade stuff has a base of menthyl salicylate but it's not a patch on this!

That stuff sounds really interesting. I like to keep a lookout for things like that too. The best stuff i've found (by a long long way) so far is called woodlock. It's a chinese linament. The only problem is is that it's generally very expensive (sometimes up to £12 per bottle  ). However, if you shop around online, especially on chinese medicine suppliers sites you can get it much cheaper for a little bit of hassle.
It can feel almost cold once on although its not a cold rub. It's very potent and goes deep so to speak. Very good for chronic ailments that dont respond to the usual commercial stuff.
Will def keep a look out for fiery jack in the future ;)

Oh yeah. A word to the wise. Make sure you wash those hands at least twice BEFORE going to the toilet folks - it really isn't worth the risk :yikes:

Somebody was telling me about using nettles for the same thing a few weeks ago. It sounded a bit harsh but apparently it's very good.

Anyone else heard of this before ?

Nettles were certainly used in Scotland for this purpose for hundreds of years. What we forget is that there was up until recently no oppiate based painkillers so traditional methods of pain control were based on folk mediscinal practices such as using nettles and willow bark (and a few other dangerous herbs best not mentioned here:rolleyes: )

The problem with nettles Shewie is thus...take some and rub your lower back with them then try and go to sleep. Let us know how you get on:D
Your gonna get more than prickly hands...pmsl

.

I used to use Fiery Jack a while ago,
for general backache from diving for hours on end.

It feels great for a while..... until you start to sweat,

........ then look out!

Yeah putting it on the back's probably not the best idea at bed time :)

The guy who told me about it said he'd sting himself all over the knee area everyday and the old injury pain would clear up.
Apparently after the first few days you don't really feel pain anymore it's more of an itch.

Sod that for a game of soldiers though, I'm sticking to my ibruprofen
