Notice that there's no mention if they are made out of wool or some synthetical material. Most of the "felt" I have seen is actually made out of polyester.

If you can pull a few fibres out and burn them it should become obvious. Wool won't melt, it will just smell of burning hair

How would you tell??
Easiest is to burn some fibres and see if they burn readily like polyester or scorch like wool. Other way is to wet the insoles and measure their weight before and after wetting. Pure wool products absorb water much more than e.g. polyester or polyamides.
