Fast grid references

Just wondering if anyone has used one of these before, seems like a good way to get a quick and accurate grid reference. The websites nothing to do with me, just thought it looked useful

I've seen those for sale on ebay.
Can't you just use the scale on the side of your compass though?

Yep. That's what the romer scale is for. Doesnt seem much point to it

ditto the roamer on the compass comment!

also you can make your own - you only need a 'scale marked' L on a bit of thick OHP acetete or perhaps on the compass base

I have a flimsy romer I bought for £1(I think) they are useful if your compass doesnt have a romer built in.
The one on that website doesnt seem to be a very good design, all romers I have used before work by putting the corner on the location and reading the overlapping edge.
