And with this, my neighbours can kiss their privacy goodbye! MWAHAHAHAHA! :lmao: (JK)

Jokes aside, this could be handy for a lazy person when finding a decend campsite possibly?

thanks for sharing,

Have a few quad/multi copters.

You can get a basic setup pretty cheap now days, to build a decent one with a decent FPV system, Transmitter, return to home system etc you really need to be looking at 500 quid and upwards.

They're good fun but you do even with modern gyro's and control systems you still need to learn how to fly them, which takes a fair bit of practice to do it well.
They're a thousand times easier to fly than a plane and and a million times easier than a helicopter, but that's really the downside as once you've got the hang of flying them they tend to be a bit boring.
With a plane or heli even if you've been flying for years you still learn every single flight, with quad/multi copters you're pretty limited to the manoeuvres you can carry out.

You also have to be careful because components do fail and you will hit things, so where ever you operate it you need to make sure you either happy to lose it or you only fly it where you can retrieve it.

Biggest problem we have for using them outdoors is size, weight and the amount of batteries you'd need to carry for extended use.
Also be advised to carry a basic tool kit, as previous experience has shown not being able to fly due to a silly little problem of having a wire connection break or a screw/bolt come loose is extremely frustrating.

Have you seen the black hornet? Its being tested by British and US troops in Afghanistan, it flies at 10mph, flight time of 20 minutes, range of 1km.
It looks cool, but $70,000 per unit!!
Do you think you could buy or build something that could do the same for a lot less?

Won't have the range (about 100m) or capabilities of the Black Hornet but there is this

Problem with the tiny quad/multi's is thery're pretty much useless outdoors on all but the calmest days.
With the Black Hornet is GPS location flown rather than controlled by the flier directly, so it's less affected, it is extremely difficult to fly a micro quad/multi outdoors though.

They look like fun. Seems to be about £80 in the UK.
