F1 Stabilised Elm burr

Just finished this for a member here. Simple sheath with brass D-ring for carrying with a large rucksack / other kit.

The handle I got on BB from Atty, stabilised elm burr. Utterly beautiful and a joy to use. Has the beauty of wood and the practicality of micarta - this will be my choice in future.

Having never used an F1 before I was pleasantly surprised by it, yes it is a little too convex but I like to cut a little of each sheath with the knife it is made for if I can and it worked well.

I'm really quite pleased with this and I've fallen in love with the wood.

Very nice indeed; I like the WM1 I have and the F1 just strikes me as the bigger brother, and I really like that Elm burr.
I can get bits of the burr, but what do you do to it to stabilise it?

Lovely work there Dougster. Actually of course, your "take" cures one of my objections - the handle. An hour with a belt grinder on the blade could probably cure the rest of them
