Anyone know about hand press riveting or eyeletting? We've inherited a hand press but it looks like there's not the full set of dies. What are the cutting dies like compared to the eyelet dies?

We've worked out the eyelet dies and have a load of other bits but not sure about the cutting. There was one in the machine above the die we used successfully for the eyelet. It seems to be the cutting die. Anyone know if the difference between cutting and closing the eyelet

We've gone a step back and hitting a hand cutting die. A metal cutting tube with a hitting head and a big hammer. No finesse and its very rough cut but the eyelet hides a lot.

You get a stronger fix of the eyelet by making a small cross cut, just big enough to admit the head of the cone-shaped male piece, rather than removing any of the material . The flaps of the cross cut will be rolled back and trapped within the ridge collar of the brass insert. I can't help with riveting.
