extracting lanolin from wool

eh up, i was just wondering if anyone has experience with gathering lanolin from sheep wool. i have two sacks of wool. i trieds boiling some of it for many hours in a large pot as suggested by the little google brought up on the topic, after removing the wool and then reducing it / scraping off the top... it didnt really work. there doesnt seem to me much on the topic online and i was wondering if anyone here has done it before? thanks

Can't help you at all with that one, I've spent a fair bit of time learning to get the stuff back into the wool!

Elen Sentier and Harvestman did a joint project to convert raw fleeces to useable wool not too long ago and part of that was washing the raw fleece. If anyone can help it's Elen I reckon.
