Has any one tried making a knife from an Enzo kit?
I saw them on Ben's Backwoods site, seems like they
would be a good weekend project.
Would only have to choose between o-1 or a-2 steel
and a wood or micarta handle.
Any feedback would be great.

Regards,

You can get them from Dennis at Brisa as well in various forms and kits.

Search for Enzo on this forum and you will get a few threads from members who have made/bought them they seem to be good.

Excellent knives, in fact i think they have a march on most production Bushcraft knives including Fallkniven and Helle.

I have one in paper Micarta with red liners and it is stunning :D

I've made a knife with an enzo blade and also used one of the kits. I'm happy with both (D2 steel). The kit was a real lazy man option -just epoxy and bolt plus final shaping and finishing. Didn't give much option for personalisation as the slabs were quite thin and step- drilled for bolts, fibre liners and all. Might be a useful "first time" experiment to encourage you to do your own from scratch.

Very nice knives. The only thing about the Trappers is that the handle is a little on the small (short) side. The blades are ground quite high and so have a small secondary bevel.

Here's one I made about 6 months ago:

Thanks for the input.
Xav,I know the kit would be a lazy man's option,but thats o.k.
I find myself better at sheath making, they may be a little rough,
but they would not fall apart in the bush.
I may give one a chance and post pics,as soon as my wife lets
me use her camera.
