Ray Mears (or some other TV expert) once said that no matter how little time we are able to spend outdoors we should aim to spend at least one night per season outdoors in order to engage with the seasons. This is one of the few Mearsisms that I try to follow. Sadly my engagement with spring is tonight (1st May) at a height of 3000+ feet. Happy days.:)

You missed it. The first swans have just hatched, so apparently it's officially summer now. Admittedly it's the earliest brood for over 600 years, so maybe as you're at 3000 feet we'll overlook it. :)
