Elder bow

Hi all,

New elder bow finished up today. This one is 60 inches long and draws about 40 at 26 inches.
This took a lot of fettling to become a bow. The stave was twisted up about 160 degrees along its whole length and full of knots humps and twists.
Real head scratcher.

Absolutely wonderful craftsmanship and finish, I do enjoy a good bow. What is the bow string made from?

Thanks all.

The finish is Birchwood-Casey Tru-oil. Mainly used to gun stocks. Very easy to apply with your finger tip and dries fast. Also easy to repair.
String is just B55 extra stretchy, really should buy some fast fight one day.

I would rate it up there with good elm and maybe even yew.
