Urgh... the FAQ is on antisocial media...

Made knives since 2009. Not been to a single show yet... probably not gonna start now. Not a fan of crowds and busy/loud places... i get...shall we say... edgy. When i get edgy... i often get given a period of time to reflect on my 'edginess' by the local constabulary. I've found the best way to avoid such a situation... is to avoid such a situation.

Hope you guys have fun though. Take my advice... If you buy a knife... don't buy into someone's ego/ self importance... or need to pay bills/cover costs. That costs far more than the knife is worth. And new knives, like cars... lose a percentage value when 'driven off the forecourt'.

Isn't it funny the things that the oh-so (not) helpful, word suggestion/spellcatcher does and doesn't pick up ?

I think the advantage of shows is that you see what you're buying, and you take it away with you then and there.
It's a good way to see the range available from many makers, and it's easy to speak to them, no fuss over emails and texts and phone calls.
No waiting around hoping and frustrated, watching for the post.

I've got my tickets, it's not just knives there, other crafters will be there with leather work etc. should be a good day out, got a slush fund at the ready just incase I need another knife
Cheers JFW

I might have an embarrassing amount of hand made knifes/knives already!

But I still don’t have “the one” none of them are quite right!

I’ll keep searching!

None of them ever are mate. There is no such thing as one knife that does it all. Made nearly a thousand of the buggers... All for different people based on what they feel is a perfect knife for something or other. Task specific knives.. sure, you may find one you feel is spot on.... but then, you'll need another for a different job etc...

IMO, a person needs 4 knives to do everything well. (not including things like a Stanley knife or multi tool.)

I had lunch with Murray Walker, he told me before his F1 career he worked in a marketing agency, the were employed by Trill to increase the sales of Trill bird seed. The problem was that Trill held 98% of the market. He came up with a slogan
“An only budgie is a lonely budgie” hence folk bought more budgies and bought more Trill.

As a knife maker I like your thinking ;) I’m all for several knifes

I went to the show that ran down in Gloucestershire several years and picked up a few bargains.
