Hello all,

I spent a few days over New Year in the Cairngorms, as we had so much snow skiing seemed to be the safest and best option in getting around. Anyway I decided the guys would benefit from building a Shovel-up (Quinze):

We spent about two hours building it between five of us and it would sleep two comfortably with three at a push. I think if I was going to spend the night out I would put in a couple more hours work although it was perfectly habitable at this point.

Ive spent a few nights in snow holes but it was good to try somthing different particulary with the current snow conditions. I really enjoyed the ski out too:

The ice climbing the next day was great as well:

No, a wee old quarry near Dalwhinnie. We had an intresting drive home the road across Dava Moor is a trench with 60 cm snow on each side!
