Early morning breakfast

this chappy was frustrating all the birds this morning and when he finally caught up with one of the little tree sparrows he chose our back garden to have his snack LOL

(P.S if you look closely you'll see his breakfast is still in his talons)

Any ideas what he is?

i waved a bit of sliced pork on a stick under his nose and he sat perfectly still....

i might be wrong but it looks like a hen bird to me as i thought the males wottle is a brighter yellow than that
