Let me start off by saying I normally dont like Dymondwood. But out of necessity I am thinking of taking some black Dymondwood, that I received in a kit for a Green River knife, which is 3/8 thick and about 1 ½ wide and use as a bolster. But as I stated I dont like Dymondwood but when I sanded, buffed, and cleaned up a test piece it had the appearance of buffalo horn. The knife handle will be mesquite, I have enough for about one hidden tang knife.
Just wondering if this is a good idea as a bolster or am I wasting my time and should just bit the bullet and by a metal bolster or use antler.
What are others experience with this material?
Thanks.
