Is it possible?

I've a swedish snow smock that's been dyed but still has the original white plastic buttons which stand out somewhat  and I'm planning to replace them with antler buttons. Only trouble is antler is pretty light in colour as well so I was wondering if there's a dye I could use to help them blend in a bit.

FIEBINGS solvent based leather dye.

Thead buttons onto cotton thread and dunk in bottle for 30 minutes then remove and allow two days to dry.

Dark green or brown.

Cheers

Good luck with the project Mesquite.

I dyed one of these smocks and replaced all the buttons.

It was a big enough job to replace all the white buttons with the large army green ones. Worth it in the end though.

I have dyed antler tines to darken the cut areas with normal leather dye. These were used as buttons on my Harris Tweed smock. Did the job.

Post up a piccie of the finished smock when you can.

Cheers

Easiest way -Colour them with an indelable ink marker. Or what is called a Magic Marker

Have you had a go yet Steve? I've got some Feibings dyes I can bring to the meet if you want. If you wanted to get real posh you could get some fancy dyed antled from Brisa, your buttons would be worth more than the smock though!
