Dyeing Leather Mittens

Hi all,

I have bought a pair of swedish leather over mittens but am unimpressed with the white colour and would like to dye them. I have acquired some water based leather dye (enough to make up a litre of dye) and would like to know the best method of doing it.

Do I wipe the dye on the outside of the mittens (possibly several times) until I get the desired colour or do I just soak the mittens in the whole litre of dye and leave them for a few days until the colour is what i want it to be.

I would use the paint it on method. I think if you soak them you will have excess dye coming out for ages.
