I've just been gifted a very nice good quality Silk/Linen mix shirt which fits a treat and will suit me very nicely...................but it's pale lavender; very not me! I was wondering if anybody could perhaps offer any advice on the best way to dye this darker, i.e. a brown or green, even grey, hue.?

Any help or tips greatly appreciated :)

Quickly and easily then dylon or the like is your friend :D

Otherwise....silk and linen's a bit of a mixed bag, both animal and plant, iimmc.
Tea will darken it either way, might end up a kind of odd tan/plum colour.
Indigo would do a cracking job on it....or if you're up for trying sommat a little off the wall.....soak some copper pennies, or offcuts of copper pipe in ammonia. When that's a good ink blue dilute it down really well in a dye bath (copper like this is toxic, but so long as you use it up and dilute it really, really, really well to dispose of it, it'll be fine) wash your shirt and put it into the dye to soak. The copper will add blue/green tones, and that 'should' turn your lavender grey. It's not rocket science though, and there are no guarantees :)

Have fun :)

That's great, thanks for the info........I'm going to have a little play with this and see where it goes colour-wise; thanks for the tips :)
