Hi there,
I plan on going out with my new tarp amd bivy bag this weekend! I was wondering if anyone knows of any good woods/forests within an hour of Dundee for camping?

an hours walking or driving?

Tentsmuir Forest is just across the Tay ( try googling )

Its Forestry Commission Land so probably no open fires allowed - its next to the beach though

Yeah I thought about tentsmuir but then thought about not being allowed fires or diligent rangers / wardens challenging my access rights! I spoke to a guy at work today and he recommended Montreathmont forest. Think I'll try there.
Thanks for the advice though.

We ended up going to Montreathmont forest North of Froikholm. Its my first site I've been to but was really good and would recommend it to others. Nice and quiet to say the least and tonnes of Owls!
