Hi all. If you are not lucky enough to have a permission yet (I'm not) then I could recommend Town Farm campsite opposite Ivinghoe Becon. They allow you to use firepits, they rent them for about five pounds for the duration of your stay. The guy that runs it is a friendly chap. Its close to Ashridge forest too. I use the site regular during off peak times. I wouldn't use it during May to September though as it gets busy.
