HI
decided to try and make a lid out of aluminium sheet same as others have made on bushcraft
Not made one before and tried it by tapping out on the mug
left about a 1" oversize to allow for the bending
The only problem I had was that I think there was to much of a oversise as I was getting large folds in the edge as it was folding so had to remove about 3/4" the rest folded over much easier
I then used a large offcut of round bar on the inside of the fold to tap the edge against it
I have to fit a handle and am thinking of a cut out like on the plastic lid for pouring

Hi
Thanks for the reply
I have seen a handle on here made from a webbing and pop rivets, as the metal loop ones will get hot
Some one mentioned a flat piece under the handle ,flat on the lid so your finger dont touch the lid

Rappleby 2000's web handle is a great design and I like warthog1981's solution, using picture hanging loops.
I copied the pot lid handle on the MSR pots. Made from a D ring and covered in plastic from an old bit of electric cable, seems to work OK.
