I'm with rik on this, we use EVOO for every thing, I've even seen deep fried eggs. Back on track, brake it down, fix, mod and re-build, job done...

You can certainly cook with it, you can soak wood in it. But you can also use a kitchen knife as a screwdriver. It will work to a certain extant. But it's not the best thing for the job.

IKEA Behandla or Sydd oils work well, intended for chopping boards etc but has many other uses...
